Finn runs the pad of his finger slowly around the rim of his warm glass, staring silently down into the rippling surface of his milk.

“We don’t… we don’t have to talk about it, Finn,” Kurt says quietly. “I know this is weird for you…”

“It’s not,” Finn protests weakly, because it is, but not for the reason Kurt assumes. It’s not homophobia seeping out like the contents of a cesspool, or however the hell Kurt had worded it last year. It’s just that Kurt is his brother. And thinking about him doing… well. It’s just awkward. But Finn is determined to do this. “You’re the one who’s always trying to start these chats, so. Let’s just… talk.”

“I don’t know what to… I mean, how much do you want me to tell you?” Kurt asks, his voice strained and uncertain.

Finn looks up at him, sees the discomfort in Kurt’s eyes. He only really wants to know one thing. “Did he respect you?”

Kurt visibly relaxes, smiling affectionately at Finn. “Yes, he did,” Kurt assures him with a distant, dreamy sort of tone, as though he’s replaying it in his mind. “It was beautiful.”

“Good,” Finn says gruffly, staring back down into his milk. “That’s good.”

Kurt reaches out a tentative hand and lays it on Finn’s forearm. “Thank you.”

Finn doesn’t ask what he’s being thanked for. He just lets go of his glass and settles a hand over Kurt’s, pressing the warmth of Kurt’s fingers into his arm.
